  2. Stamp 1-3-15

This stamp eluded me for a while.  I was looking at the end of a magnolia leaf I had picked up on a run recently.  I was fascinated by the undulation at the tip as well as the almost unnoticeable veins in the underside of the leaf.  I did several sketches of different parts of the leaf and then extrapolated on those and came up with a design that I thought was pretty neat.  When I attempted to create this design it was a different story.  I started out just fine.  …Read More

  3. Stamp 1-2-15

I went for another run this after noon and came across the seed pods.  As kids we called them helicopter wings and would drop them and watch them spin around and around before landing.  They were super cool! So I came back to the studio and started sketching from the photo's. This is what I came up with: Its difficult to know in the beginning if a stamp will be successful. I started out with a lump of clay that was about 2 inches long.…Read More

  5. The beginning of noticing

  6. When we were kids:

As we were kids time passed slowly at least it seemed to.  As adults all it does is speed up!  My theory on this is that as adults we have already seen it and don't need to take the time to notice it again.  As kids it was all brand new and interesting, we would stop to smell the flowers and wonder at the grasshopper, now we have smelled that flower and know how the grasshopper moves and don't need to do it again.....  Time passes faster and faster and never seems to…Read More
