classes at Plays in Mud PotteryBYOB beginner pottery class:  This class is for those that want to have some fun with clay.  It’s a BYOB pottery class that you may or may not make something you can drink out of.  Designed for those interested in pottery and want to see what it’s all about in a no pressure fun setting.  The 1st two classes will be utilizing hand-building techniques. The 3rd week we will glaze what we made and the last week will be opening the kiln (it’s like Christmas – everything’s a surprise).  This is an instant gratification class!  At the end of 4 weeks you will have some pretty cool pieces.  You can make some wall pockets, soap dishes, small plates and bowls even a mug.  The class is light hearted fun! $175 per 4 week class and includes all the clays, tools, glazes and firings.  For upcoming class dates and to register please click here.

Beginner Wheel Throwing Pottery: Ever wonder what it’s like to make pottery?  This class is for true beginners, those that have never sat down at a potters wheel before but want to.  This class is for those a little more serious about wanting to learn something new.  We will be using the potters wheel and throwing pots.  We will focus on centering the clay, moving the clay up, out and all around to form mugs, bowls and perhaps some plates.  In this class everyone will be starting at zero or nearly zero and working our way up.  I find it’s best to come to class with no expectations except to have some fun and learn something new.  And this class is FUN. $420 per 8 week class and studio time.  25lbs of clay, tools, glazes and firings are included in the class fee, if you need more clay its just $15.00 for 25 more pounds.  For upcoming class dates and to register please click here.
