New to pottery? This is a fun, beginner-friendly way to make your holiday gifts by hand, no experience necessary, just curiosity and a willingness to get your hands in the clay. Looking for handmade holiday gift classes Asheville NC offers beginners? This is it. Over three Thursday evenings, you'll learn real pottery basics, handling clay and making attachments, while creating a set of holiday gifts you'll be proud to give (or keep). No wheel, no pressure, just clay, your hands, and a relaxed, fun studio evening. Bring your favorite drink and a friend if you'd like. This class is designed specifically for first-timers, you'll come away having learned genuine pottery basics, but the focus is on enjoying the process, not perfection. Tools, clay, glazes, and all firings are included in your registration. Classes are kept small (max 6 students) so you get real one-on-one guidance throughout. Thursdays, November 5 – 19, 6:00–8:00 PM What You'll Make (8 pieces total): 2 plates 2 Christmas ornaments 2 wall pockets 2 small planters Week 1: Building, Flat Construction & Basic Attachment Handling clay and learning basic attachment techniques Making 2 flat plates Making 2 Christmas ornaments, attaching pieces together Week 2: Building, Larger Forms & Complex Attachment Building on Week 1's attachment techniques with larger, more challenging forms Making 2 wall pockets Making 2 small planters, attaching two pieces together Week 3: Glazing Creating a simple glaze plan Glazing all 8 pieces and preparing them for firing Pickup, On Your Time Once your pieces are fired, there's no set pickup date, just come by during regular gallery hours whenever it's convenient for you.
